We are Archipelagos. Straightforward, honest, unorthodox and infinitely curious.

Our
Values

Transparent

If we can find savings on your trip, we’ll pass it on to you. Exchange rates favorable? We’ll make sure you know that - even if it means we lose a little bit of money in the process. If we think a certain destination or experience isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you. If we don’t think we can offer what you need, we’ll send you to a trusted supplier who can. We are a fully independent agency which means we answer to no one, except our clients. Our rai·son d'ê·tre is to make life-long adventurers out of our clients while supporting small, independent and sustainable suppliers. Full stop.

Intentional

Tourism can be a powerful force for good in the world.

We’re committed to planning unforgettable trips that also contribute to the communities you visit, creating real sustainable travel experiences. Yes, I know, “sustainable travel” is now trendy — but that’s not why we do it. We aim to move the needle from travel being a zero-sum game, to one where everyone wins. Read more about how we feel about this here.

Thoughtful

Many of our clients find us through word of mouth. They know we are unafraid of tossing out the playbooks and thinking entirely “outside-the-box”. We specialize in certain areas that we have been ourselves, where we have sampled every possible item on the proverbial menu, and sought out all of the things that people told us probably weren’t possible. We know what is worth the splurge and what’s worth a pass. We take pretty pictures on Instagram at face value- maybe JUST a pretty picture. We’ll find out if the service matches. We’re discerning and thoughtful in every decision we make.

Your travel dollar can multiply in the most beautiful of ways if we commit to being more intentional about our travel goals.

THE IDEAS GAL

Jen Curran — Chief Fixer, Founder

Raging neophiliac Jen Curran beat a path to exotic travel guru status through a jungle of acronyms and statistics in the international aid and development field, and the occasional actual jungle (think Congo Basin). She accumulated her craft over 15+ years of planning, logistics, and program management traveling between the academy and the far afield. Along the way she developed an uncanny nose (think anteater) to sniff out unexpected delights on impromptu side trips on long, international, oft multi-country trips.

Ultimately finding the bureaucracy of her day job stifling, Jen pivoted to bespoke travel design in 2017. Jen is the Founder and ‘Fountain of Ideas’ for Archipelagos. She is the mother of two rambunctious border collies and Bahati Fund.

She learns through living so you’re unlikely to find her stationary or lacking in opinions. All the better for her discerning clients. Jen’s vision for Archipelagos is to design and promote travel to extraordinary places you haven’t heard of (yet), while creating sustainable jobs and protecting our world’s wildest places. She envisions Archipelagos as a conduit for connecting fellow wanderers with novel and meaningful encounters with the world around them.

If you’re ready for one of them, reach out to her here.
